My oldest loves tacos and burritos and, well, just about anything Mexican. I decided I would make my own seasoning instead of buying it pre-made. This recipe is the result of several different recipes I found while searching on the internet, jotting notes from hither and yon. We really like this one, I hope you do too.
Taco Seasoning
- enough for 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 T chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 to 3/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp oregano
Mix together. There, you are done! How simple is that? ~smile~ You can also add 1/4-1/2 crushed red pepper flakes if desired. My boys don’t like it hot so I skipped it. Taste a itty bitty bit on the end of your finger and adjust seasonings if needed. Go ahead and make up a big batch to keep on hand in an air tight container. You’ll be glad you did.
