Dark Chocolate Graham Cracker Brownies

My youngest just came home from the hospital last night after staying there 3 days from an asthma attack.  The whole time there, he wanted brownies.  This morning, I made these really easy fudgy brownies for him.

I know he will be happy to share with the rest of us.  Enjoy them out of the oven while they are soft and gooey or let them cool and they are chewy outer covering and fudgy inside.  Either way, I know you will love them!  Use different flavor graham crackers, chips, dried fruit, nuts …. for a variety of new brownies.  I am thinking quite a few ways to enjoy them!

Dark Chocolate Graham Cracker Brownies

  • 2 cups Honey Maid Chocolate Graham Crackers or 12 full crackers crushed into crumbs
  • 1 14 oz can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional

Grease 11 x 7 or 8 x 8 pan, Homemade Cake Release.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Crush chocolate graham crackers to make fine crumbs.   I let my boys do this in plastic freezer bags. Pour into a bowl and stir in baking powder.  Add sweetened condensed milk, dark chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Stir it all around to incorporate.

It is thick, I used a spatula and kind of smooshed it over and around. Spread in prepared pan and cook 25 to 30 minutes or until done.  Let sit 3 to 5 minutes and cut in squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or top with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream straight out of the oven.  Enjoy!
