Three of us are eating this yumminess, one is eating hot dog, after hot dog, after hot dog and the other is eating chicken and egg noodles.  He doesn’t like hot dogs now for some reason.  His brothers made up ingredients for the hot dogs and he hasn’t eaten one since!  lol

Chili Cheese Dog Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 tube of 8 crescent rolls
  • 15 oz. canned chili
  • 15 oz. canned chili with beans, drained
  • 15 oz. pork n beans, drained
  • 10 oz. diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained, optional
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, finely shredded

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray 8×8 pan. In a bowl, mix chili *no beans*, cheese and onions, put aside.  Mix pork n beans and chill with beans *or two cans of chili* and tomatoes and green chilies in pan.  Roll 7 hot dogs in crescent rolls and place on top of beans. Roll 8th hot dog in crescent roll and cut in half.  Top with chili, cheese and onion mixtures. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes or until bubbly. Uncover and cook an additional 3 to 7 minutes until rolls are brown.

Note:

Chili can be used in place of baked beans.  The crescent dogs may not be firm when topped with chili.  You can put all the chili under the crescent dogs and top them with additional cheese the last couple of minutes of cooking.  Or, not top them at all. Most of mine were firm, However, I did notice places that were not. Either way, they were great and will be made again.
