An old recipe that is a great start to any morning! These Banana-Pecan Sticky Rolls are easy to make and fun to eat!
I melted 1/4 cup margarine in the pan with brown sugar. The rolls turned out so soft yet not dripping with ooey, gooey, sticky goodness! If you wish that effect, melt 1/2 cup margarine with the brown sugar.
Banana Sticky Rolls
ingredients
2 cups biscuit mix, homemade, sifted
2 bananas, ripe and mashed
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 cup brown sugar, homemade
10 Tablespoons margarine, softened, divided
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 to 1-1/2 cups pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mash bananas and sprinkle with lemon juice. Sift biscuit mix, homemade, add mashed bananas. Stir together, there may be loose biscuit mix. Move to lightly floured surface and knead 6 to 10 times, to incorporate all biscuit mix with bananas. Roll out into a rectangle. Melt 2 Tablespoons margarine, brush on rolled out dough. Sprinkle with 14 cup brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly from smaller end. Pinch together seams. Put 1/4 to 1/2 cup margarine and 1/2 cup brown sugar in 8×8 pan, topping with pecan halves good side down.
Put in oven and watch carefully so it doesn’t burn, 1 to 2 minutes or until margarine and brown sugar are melted. While pan is in oven, slice roll into 12 equal pieces. Take pan out of oven and put slices on top of pecans. Work fast while it is still liquid. Return to oven and cook 12 to 14 minutes until rolls are done. Immediately flip onto serving plate. Let pan sit upside down 1 to 2 minutes. Remove. Eat while warm.
